I’m trying to find scholarships a college students that are not based on your gpa or income?

i’m helping a friend thats in college, she a minority, doesn’t really have the best grades but decided to change this semester. She actually wouldn’t really be considered under privileged or low income. Please Help!!!!

Try sites like http://www.fastweb.com http://www.reviewscholarships.com and http://www.scholarshipexperts.com to find lots of options and read about potential scholarships.

Where can I get college scholarships?

I have amazing grades but i have no idea where to get my college scholarships. Does anyone know a good website or actual scholarships that I could apply for and receive?

there are endless amounts of scholarships out there. Some good websites are schoolsoup.com, scholarships.com, fastweb.com, petersons.com, and of course a good old google or yahoo search.
Many colleges have scholarship information and resources on their financial aid websites. so I would suggest looking around at the websites of different schools (including the one you are interested in) and see what they give for scholarships.

You should also contact the financial aid office of the college and find out what kind of information they have on scholarships. Some schools will have different information that isn’t always on their website. The financial aid office is always a valuable resource. Just keeping asking questions and you will have endless opportunities.

Good luck!

Are there any places where I can find scholarships for college?

I want to go to college, but I need to find scholarships for college. I live in Michingan if that matters. If there are any websites or tests I can take, please tell me.
I am a junior in high school right now so can I sign up for any scholarships know or do i have to wait until I am a senior.

I recommend looking at the college you want to attend. Most have a book or pamphlet of scholarships they offer. If you qualify, apply for them. Be sure to do this before the deadline . . . most deadlines are in February for the colleges I applied for. You are more likely to get a scholarship from the college you want to attend, where only some of the people going there will apply for, rather than a website where most of the nation applies for.

Also, most scholarships require you to fill out the FAFSA first to see if you qualify for federal aid. You have to fill it out, even if you know your parents or you make too much money. I recommend doing all of this very soon . . . you don’t want to miss the deadline!!!

College Students: Did your scholarships pay for room and board?

If you received a scholarship, what all did it pay for? Just tuition? or book fees and residence. I’m counting on a scholarship to help me pay for college and i would like to know what all they cover.

What the scholarship covers varies just as much as the type of scholarships out there. Some scholarships are very specific as to what the money may be used for. Others are just a lump sum they send to the college and it is deposited into your account there.

I personally was awarded scholarships that helped with my room and board slightly, some that covered tuition and fees, others that helped with books, and a few that were just checks written out to me personally.
