Are there scholarships for college-bound students who have siblings in college?

Im in high school and when I graduate, I was wondering if there is a scholarship for me if my sister goes to college already, since it will be a little difficult for my family to send two kids to preferably UC’s (my sis is already in the UC system).
Im in high school and when I graduate, I was wondering if there is a scholarship for me if my sister goes to college already, since it will be a little difficult for my family to send two kids to preferably UC’s (my sis is already in the UC system). I want to go to a UC and major in some type of computer engineering. Any scholarships for computer engineering, or a really easy scholarship are also good to. Please answer if you have any scholarship in mind. Thanks

There are tons of scholarships that go unclaimed each year. Many $400, $500 or $1000 scholarships never even get applied for because people think it’s chump change and not worth applying for. Well, get a few of those $500 scholarships and it’ll really make a dent in your tuition bill.

Do a search on scholarships, search your major, your ethnic heritage, your town, your parents employers, your employer, hobbies, high school, local chamber of commerce/rotary/ lion’s club etc. Left-handed? There is a scholarship out there for you! Older woman returning to school? There are scholarships out there for you. Do combined searches on more than one criteria "hispanic women aviation scholarships" etc.

Go to the library and ask the reference librarian for a reference book on scholarships. They usually have more than one. There are all kinds of scholarships out there, you just have to start applying yourself and make it your summer career to send out letters everyday for scholarships. Good luck!

What percentage of college students take out loans?

Due to personal beliefs I’ve decided to not participate in the ROTC program at my college, and I’ve lost the tuition to cover my expenses for the school year. My parents are giving me a hard time about it, saying that many students have scholarships to cover these expenses already, and that not everyone relies on loans.

I’ve earned one scholarship so far and am on financial aid, and going to an in-state school which has reduced me costs to $6000 a year, which is pretty good going to a Public Ivy if you ask me.. I want to prove to them that not every student has full rides or pays for it straight cash. Does anyone have the numbers/facts on this data when it comes to loans?

I found a surprisingly interesting fact from my school; the University of Iowa. It said that %44 of students that graduate were debt-free! I was very surprised, they also said that of those %56 that had loans the average amount at graduation was only $12,000. I think that is pretty good considering the schools tuition/Room and Board/Living Expenses are in excess of $17,000 a year. As for myself, my parents are pretty well off but are not paying a dime for my schooling so I am taking out loans for about $6,000 my freshman year and the rest is paid for by grants/scholarships. Just remind your parents that you will be sure to get a career that has a high salary right out of college so you can quickly pay off the debt. I am going to be an accountant like my father so average salary for first year out fo school accountants is over $55,000,, so I am not worried and neither should you or your parents as long as you will be a good student.

Where can i find college grants/scholarships for diabetic students?

What are some good scholarships to look at for college?

I am a senior in high school and i am looking for any help i can get next year. thanks :)

What are your strengths? If you are a stellar student, then it should be easy. If your family is the low-income category then apply for grants and scholarships fitting that category. There are writing scholarships, if you are good at that. There are some for those who do a lot of volunteer work.

You just have to figure out what would make you stand out and then go looking for those plus fill out the FAFSA. November is National Scholarship Month, as many are beginning to take applications now, so don’t wait too long or you might miss the deadline (most are in the winter to spring months).

Good Luck!

Hardcover Book – Vince Dooley’s Tales from the 1980 Georgia Bulldogs

Hardcover Book - Vince Dooley's Tales from the 1980 Georgia Bulldogs

Even Moses could not have parted the red sea of fans who engulfed the Georgia Bulldogs football team after it clung tenaciously to 17-10 victory over Notre Dame in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, capping a perfect season to win the school’s first consensus national championship. Vince Dooley had the perfect view of the bedlam, riding atop the shoulders of his players, and he had the perfect view of everything that happened in 1980 that led up to the ultimate climax. They played with the tenacity of Bulldogs all year, yet it might have been the purloined pig that united the team. It was also the year the silver britches returned. It was the last year for the fans on the railroad tracks. And on the eve of a national championship, Vince Dooley almost left Georgia to return to Auburn to coach his alma mater. One year removed from a mediocre 6-5 season, Georgia certainly got a boost from freshman tailback Herschel Walker, the most sought-after schoolboy athlete in the state’s history. It was so important that Georgia sign Walker, in fact, that backfield coach Mike Cavan moved to Wrightsville, Georgia ?100 miles south of the Athens campus from Christmas to Easter? when divine intervention seemingly moved Walker to a decision. But Walker alone was not enough. That became clearly evident when a dramatic comeback was needed to overcome Florida, and a wide receiver who had lost his scholarship for disciplinary reasons and suffered an offseason injury in a car accident resurrected his college career with the most incredible play in Georgia’s history.Yet the championship season was almost derailed before it started in the season opener, when Nate Taylor, Pat McShea, and even punter Jim Broadway epitomized the roles of the unsung heroes in a onepoint win. From beginning to end, it was a year of unusual drama, sprinkled with generous doses of humor. And when it was all done, the 1980 team had reached a place no Bulldog team had ever gone before.2005. 192 Pages

NCAA Football 10 for Microsoft Xbox 360

NCAA Football 10 for Microsoft Xbox 360

NCAA Football 10 kicks off the 2009 season with a new showdown mode that pits you against the world in weekly challenges consisting of five categories: schedule match-ups, games versus any opponent, games against the computer, trivia, and pick ‘em games. The object is to win three of the five categories each week. Returning from the previous year’s game are online dynasties and the option to create a high-school athlete in his quest to earn a college scholarship. Renamed “Road to Glory with Erin Andrews,” the career mode will now have ESPN’s sideline reporter following your athlete’s milestones and include photos, highlight footage, and interviews for a more personalized take on the action. A new gameplan option lets coaches tweak their team’s style of play by selecting aggressive, balanced, or conservative schemes on both offense and defense, with each scheme offering various strengths and weaknesses. Another risk-reward feature involves ordering your defense to key-in on a specific play. Guess correctly and you’ll increase the likelihood of the play being stopped for a loss. Guess incorrectly and you could place your defense at risk for a big play. Also new is the ability to create up to 12 schools by selecting team colors, uniform styles, stadiums, athlete names, and even fight songs. Created schools can then be taken online to compete in a custom conference. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide Universal Football
