I am going to be graduating in a year from my undergraduate program in animal science and I am planning on going to graduate school for a doctorate. I wanted to know if most graduate students work full time while going to graduate school. Thanks

if you are taking a full course load or almost a full course load then no. But if you want to strech your grad school career over a longer period of time, like if you take half the amount of courses per year, then you could work full time i would think.

It depends on your financial situation really. Most students who are single will not work full time as a grad student as it’s not really needed. However, most will work part-time, typically as a GA/TA with tuition waiver and stipend.
Students who have children or need to support someone else in their family often do have to work full time or work an equivalent of full-time by having 2-3 part time jobs. This is as it may be difficult to find steady full time work as grad programs tend to be daytime schedules.
