Am I eligible if my dad came from another country?
is that what it means by first generation?
also, even though this doesn’t have anything to do w/ it..am I a first generation (nationality here) if he did come from another country, or would my mom have to be from that country too?
also, he got citizenship before i was born..
answer the first part at least please..?
ohh ok..i guess i was thinking of first generation americans when i heard that
True most of the time there are scholarships that use the words first-generation meaning their parents didn’t attend a 4yr university and they will be among the first in their generation to go.
But there are some scholarships for 1st generation Americans- they just dont use that terminology. I know when I registered on fastweb.com they had a few scholarships available for first and second generation Americans. It depends on the country your family is from and if they are underrepresented in college (like Latin Americans). Contact the specific school for more information.

First generation college students means yours parents and siblings have not gone to college at all, it doesn’t matter if you came from another country.

You have to contact the financial aid office of the college you plan on attending. They will be the only one to answer that question.
